BonsaiFEST!
Saturday, May 10 (World Bonsai Day) and Sunday, May 11 (Mother’s Day) immerse yourself in the beauty and serenity of bonsai culture. Join us for our family-friendly BonsaiFEST! featuring hundreds of living works of art, four bonsai exhibitions, bonsai-making demonstrations, guided tours, games, food trucks, shopping, and more, all with free admission.
SEE:
♥ Flowering bonsai, such as azalea and wisteria, likely at ‘peak bloom.’
♥ The Puget Sound Bonsai Association (PSBA) Spring Show, featuring aisles of diverse bonsai created by local bonsai artists.
♥ An incredible Mame (“ma-may”) display of the tiniest bonsai around.
♥ Small Talk: All the dirt on growing mini-but-mighty trees answering common bonsai questions in the form of a chat with 41 living bonsai trees.
♥ Building Wonder: Bonsai Treehouses by Dave Creek. Six, intricate, miniature treehouses built into dearly departed bonsai trees: the labor of love of the late Bob’s Burgers Lead Character Designer, Dave Creek.
♥ Little Champions: Bonsai from the Evergreen State: eight examples of Washington’s native trees condensed to their essence.
EXPERIENCE MORE:
♥ Live bonsai-making demonstrations — see how bonsai are created and talk to bonsai artists who reveal the secrets behind their craft. Consecutive demonstrations will be presented from 10am to 4pm, both days.
♥ Docent-led tours of the collection — join a free tour to hear stories, ask questions, and share insights. Tours start at 12pm and 1pm both days; meet at the Conservatory.

SHOP, EAT & PLAY:
♥ Shop for bonsai and bonsai pots from Robert Cho’s Asia Pacific Gardening; shop for books, stickers, tools, and gifts from Pacific Bonsai Museum’s unique pop-up shop (10am to 4pm both days)
♥ Enjoy tantalizing treats from featured food trucks: MoMo’s Kebab (both days), Sweet Wheels Ice Cream Sandwiches (May 10), Dippy’s Ice Cream (May 11), and Vulpine Espresso (May 11).
♥ Games and Art Station, with free bonsai coloring sheets and bonsai learning activities, where kids can unleash their creativity.
PARKING:
♥Free parking is available across from the Museum at the Garden Parking Lot; wheelchair-accessible parking and passenger drop-off/pick-up is available at the Museum entrance.
COST:
♥Admission is free. There is a $12 suggested donation for adults who can support the Museum.
