Celebrate the music and legacy of longtime SeaTac resident Alan Hovhaness during a special evening of chamber music at The Roadhouse.
The concert will feature selections from Hovhaness’ distinctive body of work, including Processional and Fugue, Sonata for Harp, Khrimian Hairig, Nocturne for Harp, and Psalm and Fugue. Musicians from the NWSO will be joined by harpist Tamara Dobranic and principal clarinetist Brian Schappals for this intimate performance.
The evening will also include readings from a new biography of Alan Hovhaness, presented by his son William Holst. Presented in collaboration with Crescendo North America, the program will explore the spiritual influences and themes found throughout Hovhaness’ music.
